As part of its ongoing efforts to improve sanitation services in the city of Buraidah, the Qassim Region Municipality has established an integrated system for collecting and disposing of food waste. The official spokesperson for the Qassim Region Municipality, Mr. Nayef bin Abdul Rabbah Al-Nafie, explained that the system is currently being technically connected for daily monitoring to ensure efficient emptying and transport to landfills, thus contributing to improving the effectiveness of services provided to citizens.
Al-Nafie pointed out that the municipality has selected strategic locations in various neighborhoods of Buraidah to distribute the designated containers, which helps reduce odors and waste accumulation and ensures a clean and healthy environment for the community.
This initiative is part of the municipality's efforts to separate food at the source, which contributes to recycling food scraps and using them as soil conditioners or fertilizers, contributing to environmental sustainability. It is part of environmental investment projects that promote sustainability and improve the city's quality of life.
