Introduction
Qassim Municipality is a government entity concerned with urban development and municipal services in the Qassim region. It oversees urban planning, infrastructure maintenance, urban landscape improvement, and enhancing quality of life in the region’s cities and governorates. It also issues permits, monitors commercial and health activities, and organizes municipal services in integration with relevant authorities.
Establishment of the Municipality
Buraidah Municipality was established on 1/3/1381 AH, and Mr. Abdullah bin Hamoud Al-Barak was appointed as its head, then Mr. Suleiman bin Mohammed Al-Duraibi, then Mr. Saleh Barak Al-Ali Al-Barak, then Mr. Saleh bin Mohammed Al-Nafea, then Mr. Abdulhadi bin Dhawi Al-Harbi, then Mr. Ibrahim bin Abdulrahman Al-Bulaihi, then Mr. Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Tuwaijri, then Mr. Saleh bin Ali Al-Aidan, then Eng. Ahmed bin Saleh Al-Sultan in 1425 AH.
In 15/7/1426 AH, Buraidah Municipality became the
Qassim Region Municipality and Eng. Ahmed bin Saleh Al-Sultan was appointed as mayor.
In 1434 AH, Eng. Saleh bin Ahmed Al-Ahmad was appointed as mayor of Qassim Region.
In 1438 AH, Eng. Mohammed bin Mubarak Al-Mujalli was appointed as mayor of Qassim Region.
