His Excellency the Mayor of Qassim Region, Eng. Mohammed Al-Majali, inaugurated a workshop to promote urban planning and land use. The workshop was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing for Urban Planning and Lands, Mr. Khaled Al-Ghamlas, and his accompanying delegation. A number of officials and representatives from municipalities in the region's governorates participated in the workshop, as part of the Secretariat's efforts to enhance coordination and integration between government agencies in the field of urban planning.
The workshop focused on discussing strategic directions for developing urban plans in the region and mechanisms for unifying efforts to achieve harmony between the various planning levels, thus contributing to supporting balanced development and increasing the efficiency of land use.
The workshop also addressed ways to enhance the use of modern planning tools to ensure the achievement of the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in building sustainable and flexible cities that enhance the quality of life and keep pace with the aspirations of population and urban growth.Workshop participants emphasized the importance of continuing coordination meetings and exchanging expertise and experiences between the Ministry, secretariats, and municipalities to arrive at an integrated planning model that reflects the identity of the region and serves the development priorities of the various cities and governorates in the region.
